Benidorm Unión Musical creates the role of 'Centenary Member' to raise funds

Members and supporters of the Benidorm Musical Union will have the opportunity to be named a "Centenary Member," a position created by the organisation to raise funds to cover the costs of the centenary events. It was presented this morning by the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez; the president of the Musical Union, Mari Carmen García; and the president of the Centenary Committee, Francisco Juan.
The initiative consists of the purchase of a reproduction of a painting by local artist Marco Asensi, "Di Marco," which he created specifically for the organisation's centenary. Francisco Juan explained that "a limited edition of one hundred copies will be produced, which can be purchased with a prior donation of 100 euros, and this purchase will grant the personal and symbolic status of a Centenary Member." Juan also announced that the original work will be raffled off among those who purchase one of the 100 copies during the 2026 Santa Cecilia concert.
The reproduction is a 50x60 cm oil painting on a high-quality linen canvas and is based on a lithograph previously created by the artist and musician José María Albero for the 75th anniversary of the Unión Musical de Benidorm.
Mari Carmen García explained that the reproduction can be purchased through the organisation's website, in cash at the Unión Musical de Benidorm headquarters, or by depositing it into their bank account. Payments can also be made by sending an email to info@unionmusicaldebenidorm.com and through the Unión Musical de Benidorm's Instagram profile.
The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, encouraged residents "to purchase one of the 100 copies and attend all the events scheduled to commemorate the anniversary." Pérez recalled that the Unión Musical de Benidorm, "It's the first local organisation to celebrate this anniversary, and we want it to live up to its history." Furthermore, the two UMB representatives announced that among the planned initiatives is the upcoming release of two symphonic compositions, "already in production" and a pasodoble (traditional Spanish ballroom dance).
