Benidorm transforms Foietes Park in the second Urban Art Day

The second Urban Art Day kicked off this morning in Benidorm's Foietes Park auditorium, organised by the Departments of Historical and Cultural Heritage and Beaches. Hundreds of residents gathered for an event that has solidified its popularity this year
The Councillor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer, and the person in charge of Beaches, Mónica Gómez, along with other members of the municipal government team, and the regional representative José Ramón González de Zárate, accompanied the young creators who took over the emblematic park with their artistic works.
Urban artist MEK, winner of last year's edition of the event, was in charge of addressing the audience and decorating wastebaskets with his signature style. Cristian SEYS, meanwhile, led a cap customisation workshop in which fifty young people participated. All of this was with the aim of "encouraging active participation in the design of our city through urban art," Ana Pellicer pointed out.
The event was enriched with dance performances by the Boogie Block Urban Dance School, entertainment led by a presenter, and constant urban music throughout the day: rap, trap, hip-hop, Latin urban, and electronic music, among others. Furthermore, participants received a commemorative gift for the 700th anniversary of the Carta Pobla of Benidorm, consisting of a bag with a chocolate bar, a postcard, and the Auca by Bernat de Sarrià.
The Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, emphasized that these initiatives seek to "foster creativity among young people and attract urban artists to Benidorm to enhance the city's culture in all its breadth," in line with the City Council's project to "turn Benidorm into a large exhibition space" and "with a vocation for continuity."
With this second edition, Benidorm reaffirms its commitment to urban art and the cultural revitalisation of public spaces, consolidating the Urban Art Days as an essential event for artists and citizens.
