Benidorm launches a home assistance course for women employability
The Department of Equality has scheduled a home assistance course focused on employability and aimed at women, according to the councillor of the department, Ángela Zaragozí. It is a 120-hour theoretical-practical training course that begins on 23 September and aims to “expand the possibilities of women's access to the labour market”.
Zaragozí explained that with this action “we are following the line of action that we started last year with the job training course for social-health care for dependent people, with which very positive results were achieved”. Specifically, “80% of the students who participated in this course have continued training in this field or have entered the labour market”.
The Councillor for Equality has specified that “these good results have encouraged us to continue programming training courses to open new professional horizons for women in the social-health field, where the demand for human resources continues to grow.”
This new course for home help assistants comes from the Second Vice-Presidency and the Ministry of Social Services, Equality and Housing, and will run until November 5 from 09:30 to 13:30. Of the 120 hours of duration of the course, 80 will be theoretical training and the remaining 40 practical.
In parallel to this course, another course for nail technicians will be taught, also reserved for women, and will last 80 hours, of which 60 will be theoretical and 20 practical. This action will also begin on September 23, and last until October 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and has the collaboration of the Department of Social Welfare, Equality and Housing.
For information and registration, interested women should go to Jelena Social Center, located on Olivos Street, or contact it by phone at 96 586 02 26.
