Mayor Toni Pérez receives these insignias, which will soon be flown in Levante, Poniente, Mal Pas, Almadraba and Ti Ximo, from the hands of the Minister of Tourism
Benidorm has been awarded five Qualitur flags that recognize the environmental excellence and services of its beaches and coves

For another year, Benidorm's five beaches and coves will fly the Qualitur flag, which certifies the tourist excellence of the city's beaches. Mayor Toni Pérez received this regional award, granted by the Valencian Community Tourism Authority to beaches that meet high standards of quality, sustainability, and accessibility, from the Regional Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, Marián Cano.
At the official presentation ceremony, which took place in the neighboring Cala de Finestrat, Toni Pérez pointed out that "the Qualitur flag is one of the distinctions that many city councils fight for every year" and that having revalidated it in 2025 "is nothing more than an incentive for us to achieve it again next year and, of course, comply with standards that are very demanding but that generate enormous satisfaction for those who work with them every day—City Council staff, concessionaires, etc.—as well as for our citizens and tourists who enjoy them."
The Qualitur flag is awarded to beaches and coves that meet the environmental quality and service delivery standards set out in the ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, "very demanding standards and certifications that assess the quality and cleanliness of our waters and sand, and all the services provided on our beaches, which once again serve as a benchmark for management and excellence," the mayor explained.
Finally, Toni Pérez emphasised that "for Benidorm, the care and management of our beaches is our top priority, aware that this natural resource is also our greatest tourist attraction at any time of year." For this reason, "at the City Council, we make a constant and sustained effort over time to guarantee the best experience for our users, whether residents, tourists, or visitors, keeping all services open year-round and constantly auditing the quality of our waters and sands. The goal is to offer the highest quality, and awards like this one from Qualitur recognise that you have done things well and that this is the path forward."
Shortly, the Qualitur flag will be raised on the beaches of Levante, Poniente, and Mal Pas, as well as in the coves of l'Almadrava and Ti Ximo, along with the rest of the quality certifications obtained by the city's beaches in 2025.
