Benidorm City Council has decreed two days of official mourning for the death of the former mayor Miguel Pérez Devesa, who died on Sunday. The funeral chapel with the remains of the mayor for more than three years is going to be installed in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, and is scheduled to open to the public at noon.
Son of Benidorm, Miguel Pérez Devesa was mayor of the city from the 8 of January of 1974 until the 16 of May of 1977.
During the next two days the flags of the Consistory will wave at half-mast as a sign of mourning. The funeral will be held tomorrow Tuesday, July 11, at 11:00 am, in the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has lamented the loss of Miguel Pérez Devesa, and on behalf of the city has transferred his condolences to the family of the deceased.
