Benidorm celebrates this week the festival of Sant Antoni Abad, patron saint of animals, with a series of events organized by the City Council in the hermitage of Sanç. The councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, has pointed out that “Sant Antoni is one of the oldest and most deeply rooted celebrations in Benidorm festive calendar and in which not only the residents of the Huerta, but also from all areas, usually participate. the city who, accompanied by their pets, come to the hermitage to attend the traditional blessing of animals”.
According to Carrobles, "the acts begin this afternoon with a mass in honor of the saint at 8:30 p.m., and will continue this weekend." Thus, on Saturday, January 22, the pilgrimage will take place from the Trinquet 'Vicent Pérez Devesa' to the hermitage, where later the offering of flowers will be held, which will be followed by the singing of the traditional 'copletes' and the firing of the ' stamp'.
On Sunday, the 23rd, a mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am in the hermitage of Sanç, and later in the square there will be the blessing of animals and the delivery of bread.
