Benidorm begins its Rocío Chico with the 'Bajá' of the Virgin from La Almudena
With a Rocío mass in Almudena Parish, in Colonia Madrid, the celebration of 'Rocío Chico' has begun, organized every year by Casa de Andalucía in Benidorm
A good part of the municipal corporation has attended the religious event, with the Fiestas Councilor, Mariló Cebreros, along with the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, who have supported the Casa de Andalucía, its president, Raúl González; and its Queen, Lucía Romero.
Among the attendees, the highest representatives of Benidorm festivities, the Queens, Angélica Morenilla and Daniela Talavera; the president of the Committee of Patron Major Festivities, Vicente Solaz; that of the Penyes Association 'Verge del Sofratge', Ramón Cano; and, of course, the president of the Brotherhood of El Rocío, Juan Carlos Benavente.
After the religious ceremony, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, joined the celebration, along with the almost 200 neighbors who accompanied the image of the Virgin in the 'Baja' that moved it from the temple to the enclosure enabled at the Indeed, a large tent located in the Mercasa area, where it will remain until Sunday afternoon.
Throughout the weekend, the important Andalusian colony of Benidorm will experience one of its most endearing festivals that mixes devotion, culture, and delicious gastronomy to which all the residents of Benidorm and those who accompany us during these days are invited.
