The public completely fills the venue to see the performance of the actress Beatriz Rico

Absolute success of the play 'Antes muerta qu convicta' at Óscar Esplá amphitheater

23 July 2022
Representación de la obra 'Antes muerta que convicta'

The Óscar Esplá amphitheatre in the Parque de l'Aigüera recorded a full house yesterday for the performance of the play 'Antes muerte que convicta', starring the actress Beatriz Rico and organized by the Department of Culture and Equality.
The invitations had sold out within a few hours of being available to the fans, which already presaged the resounding success. The premiere of the work in Benidorm was attended by the councillors of Culture and Equality, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Ángela Zaragozí, as well as other members of the corporation.
The text, written by Beatriz Rico herself with the collaboration of Salomón and Pepa Rus -who also lent her voice off-, was a monologue or "one-man work", as the actress described it. The play, full of humour, has been on tour throughout Spain for five years.
The plot of 'Antes muerta que convicta' focuses on Carolina, a woman who has escaped from prison doing social work, while her husband, a successful businessman, is still locked up. It is then that she sees the perfect moment to fulfil her dream: to compete in a television program and become famous "whatever it is".
'Before dead than convicted' is the first of the three theatrical proposals that the Department of Culture has included in the summer program, which will feature outdoor performances and proposals aimed at different types of audiences, from children to the general public.
