The 4th Microteatro Festival arrives at l'Hort de Colón with six new performances of various genres
The fourth edition of the "Microteatro" Festival will be held on May 16 and 17 at l'Hort de Colón. This format features a series of short plays, each approximately 15 minutes long, presented in a continuous session.
This event allows viewers to choose their time in the venue, the number of plays, and the price they pay, with each one being paid individually.
This fourth edition was presented this morning at a press conference by the Councillor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, accompanied by Miguel Ángel Fernández of Mascarat Producciones and theatre director Manuel Troncoso, both promoters of this initiative. "Both the capacity of the venue and having the actors so close make the experience very real," stated Pellicer, who thanked Troncoso and Fernández "for enhancing the city's cultural diversity and potential."
Performances will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will continue until approximately 10:00 p.m., with performances starting every five minutes. Individual tickets for each performance cost 4.50 euros if purchased in advance, which can be done at www.taquilla.microteatro.es/benidorm. Tickets are 5 euros at the Hort de Colón box office. A pass for all six performances can also be purchased for 25 euros.
The plays being performed this year include "Son los padres," "Cuatro tetas y un funeral," "No hay nada como la primera cita," "In vestiduras," "Paraíso apartment," and "Asesinato 32 puñaladas," and cover genres such as dark comedy, romantic comedy, musical comedy, thriller, and even an interactive crime thriller.
Miguel Ángel Fernández, for his part, emphasised the quality of the plays, stating that "the success of this fourth edition is confirmed by that of previous ones, and in fact, there are only four tickets left to sell."
One of the plays, "Cuatro tetas y un funeral," is directed by Manuel Troncoso and local actors. Troncoso himself explained that the genre is "black humour" and revolves around two sisters who reunite at their father's funeral after 20 years without seeing each other. "It's a very interesting piece, with very good performances and a surprise in the play with a very current theme," he explained. The actors in this performance are Toni Moya, Cristina Jiménez, and Julio Gutiérrez.
