The 10th Earth Rice Days closes the 2021 ‘Benidorm Gastronómico’

The Earth Rice Day, which will take place from October 15 to 24, will put an end to the edition of ‘Benidorm Gastronomico 2021’, which this year has had a reduced format due to the pandemic. In this tenth edition, 16 establishments in the town will take part, as announced this morning by Mayor Toni Pérez during the presentation of the Conference in the El Torrejó building.
The mayor was accompanied at the press conference by the president of Abreca, Javier del Castillo, and the godfather of this year's Benidorm Gastronómico, José Miguel Martínez.
Pérez recalled that “we have had a very hard time”, in which “we have been making efforts and working”. For this reason, the mayor has launched an "applause" for the hospitality sector because "you have brought light to Benidorm".
In his speech, the mayor stressed that these days "speak to us about something very ours, a hallmark, a very affordable product, with a high quality of its cooks and an unbeatable service."
The price per person will be 23 euros, and it includes a wide variety of starters, rice, drinks and dessert. "I want to make a call for you to come and enjoy it because gastronomy is a fundamental contributor to the quality that Benidorm offers," said Pérez, adding that each participating establishment "is a showcase for Benidorm."
The mayor has said about Benidorm Gastronómico that it is "a project that adds" and has hoped that from the 15th to the 24th of this month "all our hoteliers can repeat many times: Bon apetit ’".
The president of Abreca, Javier del Castillo, has also welcomed the Rice Days and encouraged us to participate in it "tasting our rice dishes" because in these cases "it is not about making money, but about promoting our gastronomy". Del Castillo has also been "very grateful for the help that we have received from the City Council in these difficult months and that at times we have been denied by the Generalitat."
