Mayor Toni Pérez; the president of the Rotary Club, Juan Ángel Ferrer; and the head of the Brotons Group, Pepe Brotons, today presented a check with all the money collected to the president of the entity, José Luis Calvo, and to the users of the centre. A collection that “breaks all records recorded so far” and far exceeds the previous year's 5,500 euros.

Toni Pérez highlighted, despite being a sporting event, “this activity is much more than a cross-country race” and thanked the people of Benidorm “for their support and collaboration.” “When we presented the race at the beginning of May, we made a call to try to surpass the participation figures of the previous year and we have more than achieved it,” he said. Likewise, the first mayor congratulated the Double Love users, who also took part in the race, becoming protagonists of this day of solidarity, fun and sports, and has set a new challenge for all those present:

“We have 14,423 reasons – alluding to the money raised – to start working now on the sixth edition.”

For his part, the president of the Rotary Club recalled that this organization, which has just commemorated its thirtieth anniversary and paid tribute to one of its founders, Enrique Ballester, “has collaborated with Doble Amor and will continue to do so every year". Furthermore, Juan Ángel Ferrer said the amount raised “is a success for everyone.”

Finally, the president of Doble Amor, José Luis Calvo, pointed out that “the objectives we had in this fifth edition have been more than met, which were to achieve financial support for the centre; give visibility to our users and the work we do with them; and give back to Benidorm a little of everything that Benidorm brings to us.”

The Doble Amor Solidarity Cross was held on May 12 and had around 675 registered, exceeding the figures of 2023 by more than 200 people, when 5,500 euros were raised. Of those 675 registered, 220 participated in the Cross in the runner category; 115 did so in Nordic walking and 340 in children's races, gathering in all cases high participation of individuals and also a large presence of sports clubs and other social organizations from Benidorm and the Marina Baixa to support Doble Amor centre.
