El trompetista Héctor Buigues gana el XX Concurso de Música de Benidorm

The musician Héctor Buigues has been the winner of the XX Benidorm Music Contest, which this year has been developed in the trumpet specialty. Born in Xàbia and trained at the Municipal Music Conservatory 'José Pérez Barceló' in Benidorm, Buigues received the prize of the contest from the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, César Sánchez, and the acting mayor and councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer

Buigues participated last night in the closing concert of the XXX International Music Course, held in the Assembly Hall of the City of Benidorm, along with professors Pepe Gallego -Piano-, Germán Asensi -Trumpet-, Nikita Zimin -Saxophone- and Stefanos Saponopoulos -Piano-. A concert attended, in addition to the president of the Diputación de Alicante and the acting mayor, the councilman of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, and the councilman of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo.

This closing concert put the closing to the 30th edition of the International Music Course, which this year had 95 participants, 53 of them from Benidorm. For five days, this course has turned Benidorm into a benchmark for music and a meeting point for teachers and students, who in addition to sharing classrooms and training have offered free concerts open to the general public every night.

The Councilor for Culture thanked "the contribution of all those who have caused that year after year" the International Music Course "has been possible." Pellicer stressed that for a city like Benidorm, "with a conservatory and three music bands, it is" a satisfaction to provide local students and those from all over Spain with the opportunity to "have first-rate teachers" such as those who have participated in this edition: Angel Sanzo, Nikita Zimin, Michal Dmochowski, German Asensi, Ricardo Llorca, Graham Jackson, Stefanos Spanopoulos and Pepe Gallego.

Likewise, she conveyed to all the participants her wish that the experience lived these days "serve to enrich your curriculum in the professional, artistic and personal facet".
