Santa Cecilia's concert by Sociedad Musical l’Illa de Benidorm
Around 200 people have gathered at Benidormense venue to enjoy the concert of the recently winner of the Provincial Bands Contest, directed by Felipe Juan Lanuza. Among the attendees, the mayor, Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez and other members of the local government team.
The concert has been divided into two parts. The first began with the musical piece 'El K'Sar el Yedid' by Camilo Pérez Monllor, it continued with 'Suite de suites' by Francisco Amat, (I. De la mar a Biar, II. Canción, and III. Jota ) and has ended with the symphonic poem by Miquel Morales 'Alejandro Magno'.
The second part, with an obvious cinematographic background, has started with Alan Silvestri's ‘The Feather Song’, by the film Forest Gump directed by Robert Zemeckis. Next, the Christmas 'Sleigh Ride', by Leroy Anderson; then the funny 'Coffee Serenade' by Ted Huggens; and ended with Dimitri Shostakovich's 'The Second Waltz', which, among other films, is part of the original soundtrack to Stanley Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut'.
This afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a second concert in honor of Santa Cecilia. At Julio Iglesias, but with the help of La Nova de Benidorm Sociedad Musical. The entrance will be free, limited to the capacity of the amphitheater and the obligatory use of the facemask at all times.
