El profesor Antonio Bravo presenta un nuevo estudio sobre la Carta de Poblament de Benidorm

Benidorm Town Hall's Assembly Hall hosted the presentation of a book by Professor Antonio Bravo yesterday afternoon, Monday, on the Carta de Poblament granted by Admiral Bernat de Sarriá to the town in 1325, which marked its seven hundredth anniversary on May 8th. The work entitled "Carta Puebla de Benidorm. Reconstrucción, edición y estudio de la versión de 1325," was published by V. J. Sanjuán Ediciones and based on a notarised copy of this document made in 1430. The whereabouts of this copy are unknown, but two sets of photographs currently exist.

The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, along with other members of the Municipal Council, accompanied the author and editor at the presentation of this work, which is part of the events commemorating the 700th Anniversary of the signing of the founding act of Benidorm as a municipality with its own legal entity.

Both Vicente J. Sanjuán and Antonio Bravo explained in detail the contents of this book and the issues that make it different from other publications also written around the Charter of the Population. They also emphasised the importance of disseminating all aspects related to it among the population, given the historical significance of this document.

To conclude the event, Professor Bravo García gave the floor to the mayor of Benidorm, who congratulated the author on this new publication. Toni Pérez publicly thanked Antonio Bravo, as well as all the others who have dedicated themselves to the study and research of local history, for their work in recovering and making it known. He also praised the efforts of editor Vicente J. Sanjuán, who published many of them in book format.
