People from Benidorm over 18 years of age will be able, for the first time, to vote online for the proposals that are included

The Neighborhood Council unanimously approves the 2023 Participatory Budget Self-Regulation

The Neighborhood Council of Benidorm has unanimously approved this morning the Self-Regulation of Participatory Budgets of 2023 in the session held this morning in the Plenary Hall of the Benidorm City Council. Self-regulation was born "with a clearly continuity perspective" and that will be sent to the plenary session for final approval.

Now the whole process will begin to receive the neighbourhood proposals, which will later be evaluated by the Neighborhood Council and municipal technicians to be included in the Participatory Budgets for next year. The circumstance arises, as explained by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, that "for the first time all Benidorm residents over 18 years of age will be able to vote on the proposals electronically thanks to a grant that the Provincial Council has given us for the creation of a participatory platform.

One of the objectives pursued with the telematic vote is to open neighbourhood participation to the youngest "so that they get involved in the improvements they want for their neighbourhoods and for the city" said Pellicer.

The Benidorm City Council allocates at least 5% of the investment chapter of the municipal budget to meet the final proposals of the Participatory Budget "although that amount has always been exceeded" the mayor specified.

On the other hand, information has also been given about the next action to be undertaken on Armada Española avenue and its conversion into a single platform road. At that point, the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, indicated that this Thursday at noon there will be a visit to the area with neighbours, merchants, hoteliers, delivery men and the transport sector so that the technicians explain the details of the work, which has already been awarded and in which the concessionaires Hidraqua and Iberdrola will also participate.

The Neighborhood Council has also addressed the situation of street cleaning in the city "and the need for a new solid waste collection contract", as stated by the Councilor for Participation and Mayor Toni Pérez, who has recalled, "that in the In 2012, there was a 25% reduction in the contract with the concessionaire and since then fifty streets have been opened that need to be served”.

The new contract, which is awaiting the technical reports to be completed, already includes all the needs of the town "so we hope to solve all the problems by updating the necessary material and human resources".

They have also referred to the 35% increase approved by the Waste Consortium retroactively from June which, in any case, "will be assumed by the City Council so that it does not affect citizens." "Either we modulate a new contract that meets our expectations or we will not have the city we want" assured Pellicer.
