Nearly 4,000 club members celebrated the Acampada de las Peñas (Camp of the Clubs) with activities to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the founding of Benidorm

Acampada de Peñas 2025

Around 4,000 members of the club are celebrating this weekend the traditional camping trip organised by Benidorm Club Association, which this time also featured some activities to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Benidorm's founding. A weekend of festive conviviality, a reminder that the 2025 Festival of the Patron Saints is six months away, will continue until tomorrow afternoon, Sunday.

The city's mayor, Toni Pérez, along with the Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, participated this afternoon in the "picaeta" (picnic) organised each year by the club association. They were also joined by other members of the municipal council: the president of the Benidorm Club Association, Jonathan López; the president of the Patron Saints' Commission, Susana Martínez; and the festival queens, Paula Pascual and Aitana Pérez.

Throughout the weekend, club members will enjoy musical and DJ performances, inflatable games for children, and other activities organised by both the Association and individual clubs with the aim of ensuring fun for all participants.
Furthermore, to reinforce awareness-raising efforts regarding responsible alcohol consumption and preventing underage drinking, the Community Prevention Unit for Addictive Behaviours (UPCCA) of the Department of Social Welfare once again launched the "Coneixement" campaign this morning.

Also, this morning, the Department of Equality set up a "purple point" to promote a sexual harassment-free festival. As a new feature this year, the City Council is also carrying out a social media campaign with club members to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the founding of Benidorm.

According to data provided by the Association of Peñas (Club Associations), this year, a total of 208 peñas (groups) have registered to participate in the Camp, occupying the 279 designated plots, making this event one of the most crowded events in the city's festival calendar.

To facilitate access and mobility for those traveling to this event, the City Council has designed a specific system, including a special taxi rank in front of the venue, a special Local Police service, as well as two large parking areas: one next to the venue and one in front of it, with entrances and exits marked to ensure they are visible to drivers. Likewise, the City Council reminds everyone that, as in previous years, parking is prohibited on the avenue's sidewalks and in the entire front area of the venue, which is reserved for bus and taxi stops and Local Police, health and emergency services vehicles. Improperly parked cars, mopeds, or motorcycles may be towed away.

The event will involve an increased street cleaning service during and after the event, coordinated with the concessionaire. Regarding medical resources, a Basic Life Support ambulance with two emergency medical technicians and a first aid and alert point with two first aiders has been provided. A permanent, signposted Local Police assistance post is also in place.
