The number of participants is doubled compared to the December campaign
More than 3,000 establishments register in the #BenidormTeEspera contest
With an enthusiastic acceptance of the initiative, more than 3,000 establishments in Benidorm have registered in the #BenidormTeEspera contest which, following in the wake of the 2020 Christmas Window Dressing contest, intends to inject in the beginning of 2021 the amount of 1.5 million euros in the local productive fabric.
It is one more initiative of the Local Government to support companies, professionals and freelancers in Benidorm, in the face of the economic effects of the pandemic, with effective and direct support measures materialized in an economic injection.
If more than 1,500 establishments in the city participated in the previous Christmas initiative, in this new contest the number of registrants far exceeds double: more than 3,000 registered. The final list will be known next week once the requirements, in accordance with the rules, of all those registered are verified.
The competition aims to help the productive fabric of Benidorm through the idea of promoting the creativity of commercial and service establishments, hotels, restaurants and leisure, hotels and passenger transport in Benidorm, encouraging the decoration of premises and / or vehicles, in the face of such important dates as Valentine's Day and Saint Joseph. It is intended that with this initiative, the registrants contribute aesthetically and visually to the revitalization of the city and to show the world the variety of possibilities of all kinds that Benidorm is able to offer as soon as it returns to normality.
Through #BenidormTeEspera contest, all participants will be awarded, as Mayor Toni Pérez pointed out during the presentation of the contest last January, "for their contribution to promoting our city." The hashtag #BenidormTeEspera recovers “the spirit” of the virtual exhibition #BenidormTeEspera that since March 20, 2020 published the photographs that were sent from Benidorm -and from other parts of Spain and Europe- keeping alive the spirit of a benchmark of happiness that Benidorm always represents and that with this municipal initiative is once again the protagonist.
The contest provides three prizes of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros and a general second prize for participation of 500 euros for all registered establishments, vehicles and activities. Initially, the number of 3,000 possible registrations was considered and from the Department of Commerce, its councillor Lorenzo Martínez, has indicated "the good reception of the initiative materialized in an avalanche of registrations that now must be verified, attending to the bases, and identify possible duplications or errors ”.
At the same time, the councilor stressed that from now on the great phase of the contest begins, which consists of stating the only essential requirement of the process, which is to verify the inclusion of the hashtag #BenidormTeEspera in the photographs uploaded to the Social Networks of the establishment or vehicle participant, one or more, incorporating the hashtags #BenidormTeEspera and #Benidorm, as well as tagging the Benidorm City Council in the publication, the latter operation so that a specific tutorial is available in case of doubts on the Facebook page of Benidorm City Council.
With these publications, the contest seeks to promote the city and the destination and, at the same time, publicize the establishment or service itself and, as a whole, highlight the effort that is being made throughout this pandemic by the productive fabric from Benidorm to stay active.
The deadline for making these publications opened last February 5 and will remain so until March 22.
