The mayor receives the poets who participate in the IV Benidorm International Poetry Festival
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, received this morning in the Mayor's office the poets who will take part in the IV International Poetry Festival that is being held today in the Assembly Hall of the townhall.
The contest, organized by the Department of Culture and Benidorm Poetry Lyceum, will last until the 25th of this month and top international-level poets will take part in it. All recitals will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall.
Although it is the fourth edition of the Festival, it is the first to be held after the pandemic, which is why the mayor and the Councilor for Culture have invited "everyone to enjoy these days", which coincide with the XX high school anniversary
This afternoon the first recital will take place, which will include the group Tramontana (music and dance) and Carlos Eduardo Muñoz (voice and guitar) as guest musicians.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, an activity will take place at the IES Bernat de Sarrià with an interactive recital by the invited poets with the students of the institutes and the musician Kike Argandoña on guitar. In the afternoon it will be the second recital. On Thursday 23 there will be a new recital at 7:00 p.m., which will coincide with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Liceo Poético. Esperanza Verdecia (violin) and Joaquín Boscá (guitar) will perform as guests. The last recital will be held on Friday, at the same time, which will serve as a farewell to the poets. The soprano Marlene Aquino and the Rosa Martínez Dance Studio will be the guest musicians.
Admission to all recitals is free until the capacity of the Assembly Hall is complete.
