A large 'pink tide' solidarity of Anémona gathers more than 3,000 people in Benidorm
This morning, at 10:00 am, the 15th Solidarity March organized by Anémona Marina Baixa (Women's Self-help Group with Breast Cancer) began, bringing together in some sections more than 3,000 citizens. An authentic 'pink tide' has covered the approximately 10 km of the route that began at Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España, walked along the Poniente promenade to Tamarindos and returned towards Levante to finish in Bilbao Avenue.
The march has been lived in a festive atmosphere to which the spontaneous applause from the terraces and balconies of many of the people were added, who enjoyed an almost summer morning in Benidorm. On this occasion, and as usual, a band of batucada has been incorporated that has marked the rhythm, installed in Bilbao Avenue where, in addition, there were stands of Anémona, tents and a bar where the participants have been able to replenish forces and enjoy the paellas and sandwiches at popular prices, in addition to being able to enjoy a Zumba session.
Among the participants, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councilwoman of Equality, Paquita Ripoll and many representatives of all municipal groups. There has also been a large representation of the local fiestas and associative movement, such as the President of the Festes Majors Patronals, Antonio Vicente Fuster; the queens, Anna Galiana Pérez and Àngela Antón Pérez, accompanied by a good part of their ladies.
Toni Pérez highlighted the great "success of participation" and the "atmosphere" that has been breathed throughout the course of this 15th edition of the Solidarity March of Anémona, but above all stressed "the involvement of all who are looking for the solidarity of this wonderful project that represents Anémona on this day "and has chosen to" continue to support with all our efforts "from the City Council to the association.
