The Italian athlete Fabio Ruga won the 19th edition of the "Vertical Climb to Gran Bali Hotel," held this morning with a time of 4:30. In the women's category, the Croatian athlete Faber won with a time of 5:30, setting a new record. In the men's category, Iván Vuletic (4:40) and Klaus Hausteitner (4:41) completed the podium in second and third place, respectively. In the women's category, Kamila Chomanicova (5:49) took second place and Klaudia Krajewska (6:05) took third.

The trophy presentation was attended by the Councillors for the Presidency and Culture, Juan Díaz and Jaime Jesús Pérez, while the Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá, and the First Deputy Mayor, Ana Pellicer, took part in the race.

Once again, the race has been a true success in terms of participation and the anticipation that had been generated long in advance. It's no coincidence that it's one of the classic events on the Towerrunning World Association circuit, which had already filled its maximum number of entries well in advance. Furthermore, for the eighth consecutive year, the event is included in the international circuit calendar. With its 52 floors, 924 steps, and 190 meters of vertical drop, the Bali stair climb has become a global benchmark for the sport.

A total of 500 athletes took part in the event across the three established categories: Equipped Firefighters, Open, and Elite, with participants from countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, Slovakia, Croatia, England, Poland, and Austria, with seven of the top ten participating in the stair race.

The first race, the equipped firefighters' race, began at 10:00 a.m. In the men's category, Carlos Tejeda won, ahead of Félilx Ángulo and Ángel García. In the women's category, Mavi Gomis won, and Marina Corrales was second.

The Open category began at 11:00 a.m., with a start of four at a time, every 30 seconds. David Robles won in the men's category, ahead of Marc Rocadembosch and Mario de la Fuente, while Luz Martínez won in the women's category, joined on the podium by Mavi Gomis and Marina Corrales. Among the local runners, Rubén Suárez took first place, ahead of Domingo Seguí and Mikel Martínez, and Elena Viedma won in the women's category, posting a faster time than Yassmine Ait and Pilar Salmerón.
