Patrimoni Històric amplia les visites guiades al Tossal de la Cala durant la Setmana Santa...

The Department of Historical Heritage, led by Ana Pellicer, will expand the guided visits to Tossal de La Cala during the central days of Easter holidays, "thus enabling both residents and those who decide to accompany us during this holiday period to visit the site from the hand of an archaeologist, thus knowing in detail the result of the different excavation campaigns and the remains of the Roman 'castellum'.

The councillor has reported that "from Thursday, April 1 to Monday, April 5, guided tours have been scheduled in the morning, from 10:00 to 13:00." Some visits that can be specified and reserved by e-mail patrimonihistoric@benidorm.org. In addition to the guided tours, the site will be open every day at its usual hours: from 08:00 to 20:00 from Monday to Friday, and from 09:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pellicer has indicated that "visiting the site is a magnificent outdoor recreational activity at any time of the year, as shown by the statistics of weekly and monthly visits from the Department, which indicate that in February there were more than 3,000 visits. people who came to the 'castellum' of Tossal; a figure that will be exceeded in March ”.

The holder of Historical Heritage has recalled that "the visit to the Tossal is fully accessible, both from a sensory and motor point of view, thanks to various actions that have been developed in recent months." Thus, people with mobility problems have at their disposal electric wheelchairs to be able to visit and crown the ‘castellum, where a section of glass railing’ has been installed; while there is also available to visually impaired visitors an audio guide through QR codes in which they will find all the information about the site and details about its importance, operation and characteristics ”.

In addition, to make the stay more comfortable, a pergola has been installed to create a shady area at the highest point of the site, next to the viewpoint.

Pellicer has stressed that "in addition to discovering the archaeological remains of the Roman fort from the 1st century BC, one of the best panoramic views of Benidorm is obtained from the Tossal de La Cala, which gives added value to this visit."
