'Hijos de Pedro Alós' tournament plays its fifth edition at Poniente beach in Benidorm
Next Sunday, July 21, from 9.00 am, the fifth edition of the Costa Blanca Beach Volley 'Hijos de Pedro Alós' will be held at the municipal facilities of Poniente Beach in Benidorm, an event that pays homage to the promoter of this sport that so many succeses has brought to Benidorm.
The councilor of the area, Mariló Cebreros, along with the president of Beach Volleyball Club of Poniente, Raúl Mesa and Pedro Alós himself, has announced today the celebration of the tournament that "has as a maximum goal the promotion of beach volleyball, the club and the city of Benidorm ". The councillor has specified that during the day there will be "multiple activities" such as tournaments, games or exhibitions "with the aim of enjoying a great day".
In his speech, Pedro Alós has pointed out that the tournament "was born so that children could play with their friends" but now "children, their friends and their families" come. An event "in which -has underlined- we find all the great family of beach volleyball".
For his part, Raúl Mesa, who was a mythical international player of beach volleyball - European gold in 2005 and Olympian in Pekín 2008 -, thanked the support received by the Department of Sports and Alós tournament, while he has qualified that these activities are to "promote the base, the beach volleyball and pay tribute to Pedro who was the driving force of sport in the city".
In 'Hijos de Pedro Alós' tournament can enroll athletes who wish, although it is especially focused on amateur players or training stages. Those interested in participating can do so in four categories: Sub 10, for those born from 2010; Sub 12, born between 2007 and 2009; Sub 15, between 2004 and 2006; and Seniors, those born until 2003.
