Great reception of Luis Agius concert in the Cycle of Great Recitals

The second concert of the cycle of Great Recitals organized by the Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council yesterday brought the concert performer, writer, music and art critic, playwright and law graduate, Luis Agius, to the municipal Assembly Hall. A concert that once again garnered a great reception and raised applause from the attendees on numerous occasions. With the title 'Spain inside a piano', Agius took those present on a musical journey around our country from the 18th century to the 21st century. The meeting was attended by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, accompanied by other members of the local government team.

The program was divided into four 'journeys' and an epilogue. Thus, the first trip began in Valencia and the work 'Mediterránea' by Luis Agius himself. It continued through Levante with 'Danza española Numero 2 Oriental' by Enrique Granados, continued in Granada with the work of the same name by Albéniz and ended in Jaén with 'Mar de Olivos' by Agius.

The second trip began in Toledo with 'El Greco y Rilke in Toledo'. The second stage of this trip took him to Aranjuez, with the 'Sonata K.263' by Domenico Scarlatti and ended in Ávila with the work 'Las Murallas del cielo', also by Luis Agius.

The third trip included the interpretation of three works by the concert of the artist. The first one took attendees to Ronda, with 'Fantasía rondeña'. Barcelona followed with 'Sunset in Park Güell' and concluded in Cádiz with 'Sailor's Dream'.

The last trip passed through Cuenca and the piece 'Cuenca, balcón del arte', then through 'Córdoba, far and alone: a tribute to Lorca', arrived in Madrid with the 'Poetic Waltzes' by Granados and ended in Galicia with 'Finisterre'. The recital ended with the epilogue 'Spain from a bird's eye view' by Scarlatti, with transcription and variations by Luis Agius.

Agius has performed as a pianist in major European cities since 2002 with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AECID and Cervantes Institute. He has also published two plays; 'Todos somos Albert Camus' and 'Mi nombre es Sarah' and released two others: 'El Caminante y la Muerte' and 'Caravaggio'. Luis Agius is also a member of the recently created Spanish Academy of Music.
