The Festivities of Benidorm accompany the Virgin of Sufragio in her visit to the 'Geperudeta'

20 October 2018
Las Fiestas de Benidorm acompañan a la Virgen del Sufragio en su visita a la ‘Geperudeta’

The image of the Virgen del Sufragio, patron saint of Benidorm, has traveled today to Valencia to return the visit that the Virgen de los Desamparados made the city between September 16 and 23. Five buses and private vehicles have traveled the distance that separates the capital of the Costa Blanca with the 'cap i casal' to participate in a mass that has been celebrated in the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, was present at the event; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; and a group of councilors who have wanted to accompany on this day the maximum representatives of the Benidorm festivities, their queens: Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo. Both, together with the presidents of the Comissió and the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Paco Marín and Dani Luque, have led a large representation of the local festive world.

The delegation arrived in Valencia at 10.30 in the morning. Next, he made a tour of some streets of the historic center of the capital until arriving at the Mariano Museum of Valencia (Muma), dedicated to the patron saint of the city. There they have toured their rooms in which an extensive collection of documents and works of art of great value is exhibited. Then, in a parade and at the rhythm of 'xirimita i tabal', together with the image of the patron saint of Benidorm, the Basilica was reached where the religious act took place. Subsequently, a delegation of the delegation has had the opportunity to kiss the mantle of the patron saint of the city. The delegation has returned to Benidorm this afternoon
