Education calls for transport aid for Benidorm residents studying at the university
The Department of Education has opened the deadline to request the individual transport aid that the Benidorm City Council grants to university students who study in the provinces of Alicante – except the University of Alicante and the San Juan campus –, Valencia and Castellón. for which there is no associative transport offer. The councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, explained that "this aid is intended to alleviate the bus or train costs that these university students from Benidorm have made throughout the last year to travel to the public higher education centres of the three provinces to pursue their degree studies.” Likewise, she recalled that "students at the University of Alicante and the San Juan university campus also have another aid line, the UNIBUS, to reduce the price of the bus made available to them and financed by the City Council itself."
Moreno has indicated that "as in previous courses, the amount of aid for this non-associative university transport is proportional to the expense that the student has disbursed for this concept between October 2023 to June 2024, not exceeding 50% of it.” For this call, the Department has reserved an amount of 5,000 euros.
University students registered in Benidorm at least since January 1, 2023, and who are pursuing degree studies at universities in the Valencian Community that do not have associative transportation, as is the case of the San Vicente campus, can apply for these aids. Raspeig and San Juan, where the UNIBUS exists. Doctorate students, specialization studies, university degrees, master's degrees and postgraduate studies are not included in the call.
This aid is incompatible with other public or private institutions for the same purpose.
