Concerts, exhibitions, documentary films and poetry for the International Women's Day

The Department of Equality has informed today of the extensive program designed on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is commemorated on March 8. A program that "includes concerts, exhibitions, documentary film, poetry, workshops and talks", and in which "the Equality department has had the collaboration of different women's organizations in the city and the Departments of Education, Sports and Historical Heritage”, as indicated by Ángela Zaragozí.

Zaragozí stressed that "after the pandemic, last year forced most of the programming for International Women's Day to be carried out electronically, in 2022 we will recover face-to-face attendance and increase the activities and calendar of this event, which we are going to celebrate from this very Friday and until Tuesday, March 15”.

The mayor has pointed out that "it is a transversal programming and in whose configuration, the vindictive character of this International Day has been combined with other actions of recognition of women". Thus, "activities have been scheduled to give visibility to various problems that affect women, as well as to pay attention to issues in which gender equality is still a pending objective, such as the world of sports."

Zaragozí has ​​encouraged "the entire population, men and women, to participate in these activities."
