The clubs resume the campaign 'Recicla la peña' by Ecovidrio during the Festes Majors Patronals

After two years of absence due to the pandemic, the Associació de Penyes returns to recover the 'Recicla la penya' campaign by the company Ecovidrio, which will take place on November 13 and 14 in full celebration of the Festes Majors Patronals.

The campaign was presented this morning at a press conference by the Councilor for the Environment, Mónica Gómez, and the mayor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, who were accompanied by the manager of Ecovidrio, Roberto Fuentes, and by the president of the Associació de Penyes, Adrian Romero.

Gómez explained that, as in other years, glass containers will be installed at Plaza de la Constitución and a scale to weigh the containers deposited by each supporters club. "In addition, there will be two environmental educators who will inform supporters about the importance of recycling and the existence of the campaign," said the councilor. The three rocks that recycle the most will get prizes and gifts consisting of baskets and typical local products.

Roberto Fuentes has encouraged the clubs to "participate as in previous years" and has advanced that they will distribute bags among the premises to collect the glass and that they can be transported more easily on Sunday and Monday of Festes to the place of the scale and the containers. The schedule to take the glass to the scale and the containers have been set from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. "The more people who bring the more options they have to win the prizes," said Fuentes, who added that "it is a good time to show how much is recycled in Benidorm". In this sense, he has specified that in 2019, the last year of the campaign, "almost 10,000 glass containers were collected, which is a very considerable figure."

The Councilor for Fiestas, for his part, has thanked the Department of the Environment and Ecovidrio for their commitment to this campaign "which we have been doing since 2016 and which has been growing year after year". Carrobles has encouraged people "to show that we are a city that is committed to the environment."

Lastly, Adrián Romero, president of the supporters' clubs, recalled that starting next Friday, the Association will start distributing bags among the supporters at the Casa del Fester.
