100% of this line of aid is financed with a grant of 292,491 euros by the Provincial Council of Alicante
The City Council launches a new aid of up to 1,000 euros for passenger transport companies, the taxi sector and driving schools
The Local Government Board (JGL) yesterday approved a new line of grants against the effects of the pandemic, in this case of up to 1,000 euros and aimed at the self-employed and passenger transport companies, the taxi sector and driving schools. The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that "this call for grants will be fully financed with a subsidy of 292,491 euros granted by the Alicante Provincial Council which, once again, shows its support for the productive fabric, in the same line that the Benidorm City Council has been doing since the moment the pandemic broke out ”.
Toni Pérez has indicated that "although it seems that the worst of the pandemic has passed and tourist activity, on which Benidorm's productive fabric depends directly or indirectly, has been recovering and at the moment it shows very high occupancy figures, these sectors continue to drag the effects of a crisis that is already economic. Hence, it has been decided to generate this extraordinary injection of resources for companies and professionals dedicated to the transport of passengers, taxi drivers and driving schools that have their fiscal domicile in our city, and with which they will be able to better overcome the coming months. ”.
The mayor has pointed out that "we are talking about important sectors within the local productive fabric and that they have been able to benefit to a limited extent from the different bonuses and aid that we have been articulating from the City Council" to stimulate the economy.
As he specified, "initially these grants will be up to a maximum of 1,000 euros, as long as the expenses justified by each applicant are equal to or greater than that amount." However, "if, once all the applications that meet the requirements have been met, there is still money available, the final amount of the aid could be increased."
As established in the bases, SMEs, micro-SMEs or self-employed entrepreneurs with fiscal domicile in Benidorm who carry out their activity in the CNAEs 4931 Urban and suburban passenger transport, 4932 Taxi transport, 4939 Types of land passenger transport, are eligible for this aid. 5010
Maritime passenger transport and 8553 Driving and piloting school activities.
Among the requirements is that the average monthly billing of the months for which the aid is to be requested -which must be between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022- has been equal to or less than the billed average in the same months of 2019.
The deadline to apply for these grants will be 20 calendar days from the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). The application must be done online on the website of the City Council: https://sede.benidorm.org.
The rules and all the requirements and documentation to be provided will be published in the next few days in the BOP and on the website of the City Council.
