The City Council joins the UNED initiative 'One book for one kilo' in support of Corazón Exprés

Benidorm's UNED-affiliated centre is organising today, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the twelfth edition of its charity event "A Book for a Kilo." This event, where food is exchanged for books to help people in need through the Corazón Exprés charity, is being held in honour of World Book Day. To this end, they have set up a stand on Tomás Ortuño Street, next to the entrance to the Municipal Market, where they will collect non-perishable food and hygiene products, which will then be donated to this organisation that helps people and families in emergencies.
A municipal delegation led by the city's mayor, Toni Pérez, visited the stand to collaborate with the initiative, bringing various products previously purchased from local businesses. The mayor recalled that "A Book for a Kilo" is "an event that, year after year, is very well received in our city and demonstrates the solidarity of the people of Benidorm with those most in need."
