The City Council distributes 4,000 '700th Anniversary' postcards in around thirty public buildings

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, has distributed 4,000 commemorative postcards for the 700th Anniversary in more than thirty public spaces and buildings in all the city's neighbourhoods, with the aim of bringing the memory of this celebration closer to citizens and users of these municipal services.
Councilor Ana Pellicer explained that this "material was given away to the public attending the events held throughout last week to commemorate the 700th anniversary, but now we are expanding its distribution by distributing it in municipal buildings, making these cards even more accessible to all citizens and tourists who visit us." She also invited "all those interested to visit any of the buildings where they have been deposited and take home a souvenir of this historic date for Benidorm."
The postcards published by the City Council reproduce the official logo commemorating the 700th anniversary of the founding of Benidorm as a municipality with its legal entity, with the granting of the Town Charter by Bernat de Sarrià on May 8, 1325.
The municipal buildings where they can be found are: the City Hall; the Youth Information Center; the Department of Social Welfare; the Jelena, Tanit, La Torreta, and José Llorca Linares social centers; the Municipal Mediation Center; the Central Library, the Rincón de Loix Library, and the Levante Beach Library; the Casa del Fester; the Pepita Puchades Training Center; the Adult Education School; the Municipal Conservatory; the municipal infant schools of Les Caletes, Fontanelles, El Tossalet, and the Nanets SAPI; the administrative extensions of Beniardá, La Cala, Rincón de Loix, and Els Tolls; the OMIC (National Association of Municipalities of the Municipality of Beniardá); the Antonio López Football Fields; the L’Illa de Benidorm Sports Palace; the Guillermo Amor Sports City; the Department of Health; the Torrejó and Rincón de Loix tourist offices; La Casilla Art Space; Aula del Mar; Boca del Clavari Museum; Tossal de la Cala; Hort de Colón House-Museum; and the Local Police Station.
Distribution to tobacconists
Ana Pellicer explained that, in addition to these municipal buildings, the '700th Anniversary' cards have also been distributed to more than twenty tobacco shops in the city, from where they can be distributed free of charge to their customers. "Especially among those who have purchased the stamp issued by the Post Office to commemorate seven centuries of the city's history."
For this reason, the councillor took the opportunity to publicly thank the managers of these establishments "for their involvement and collaboration in promoting this Anniversary" and to "encourage citizens, especially the youngest, to revive the beautiful custom of sending letters to family and loved ones. And what better way to do so than with a postcard and a Benidorm '700th Anniversary' stamp?"
