The Camping of Clubs beats record of participation

Benidorm has lived an intense festive weekend starring the traditional Camp of Clubs that marks the festive half year and, as always, organized by the Clubs Association 'Verge del Sofratge' with the collaboration of the Department of Fiestas and the Comission of Majors Patron Saint Festivities. The rally began on Friday and lasted until late Sunday night today.

In this edition the enclosure has been extended. It has been divided into 280 plots that have shared 187 clubs. The City Council has also increased the points of light and has reinforced the electrical installation. The surveillance and security service has also been increased. The camping has been developed with normality, even the weather, which dropped some raindrops on Friday, has respected the festeros that this morning have been forced to dismantle some stalls because of the wind that has also prevented cooking the paellas to firewood. This has not been an impediment for the traditional Sunday contest to be carried out with gas burners, well protected from the air.

This year's has been the most crowded camping. The number of supporters, confirm from the Department of Festivals, has exceeded 4,000 people. This afternoon has been celebrated the traditional 'picaeta' which has been attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez, along with the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and other members of the corporation. The presidents of the Major Patron Festivities 2018 Comission and the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Paco Marín and Dani Luque also participated; the queens, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo; and the president of honor in perpetuity of the Comission, Paco Rosera, among others. With the acts of this afternoon the supporters will keep their tents until next year.
