47,219 citizens downloaded their tickets, for a total of 213,210 exchanged and an increase of almost three points over the 2022 campaign

The #BenidormTeDaMás campaign reaches 236,095 downloaded vouchers and reaches 6.2 million euros of billing in the local economy

02 January 2024
La campaña #BenidormTeDaMás llega a 236.095 bonos descargados y alcanza los 6,2 millones de euros de facturación en la economía local

The recently completed #BenidormTeDaMás campaign has once again broken records for users and vouchers exchanged, as well as injection into the local economy. This was expressed this morning by Mayor Toni Pérez, who took stock of the campaign at a press conference, accompanied by the Councilor for Commerce, Javier Jordá.

With the numbers in hand, the campaign has already begun with an increase of 3.33% over the year 2022 in the number of citizens who could access to download their vouchers. A total of 65,847 people could be beneficiaries of this campaign, 2,126 more than a year before.

Finally, there have been 236,095 tickets downloaded by the 47,219 users who have joined the campaign. Almost 1,700 more than in 2022. Of that number of bonuses downloaded, 213,210 have been redeemed according to the platform's data. This represents 5,896 more than a year ago and a percentage increase of 2.84%.

For the local economy, it has meant a direct injection of 2,132,100 euros, but the impact is even greater since the total impact of the purchases has reached 6,216,049.61 euros in the establishments based on the platform's figures. "Practically for every euro injected by the City Council, two more have been spent, so we must talk once again about the great success of the campaign," stated the mayor.

#BenidormTeDaMás initiative was endowed in this fourth edition with a municipal contribution of 1,450,000 euros and another 647,278 euros from the Provincial Council of Alicante.

Toni Pérez has also highlighted the decrease in the number of participating establishments, which has gone from 678 to 493, and has indicated that “it is something positive, although it may not seem like it, because we know that there are businesses that have not joined because they know that people come to Benidorm to consume and that their establishment works the same.”

The mayor has also alluded to the in-person attention of citizens who, especially in the first days, went to the City Hall and the administrative extensions so that their consumption vouchers could be processed. “In total, there were 2,102 people, 4.5% of the population, almost all of whom gathered on the first day because some had sent messages of alarm that there was not going to be any money or bonuses for everyone,” said Pérez, who has criticized “the alarms raised by PSOE.” “I hope that today, given the data, they come out to apologize because, once again, they have failed.”

Pérez has explained that “Benidorm does not deserve these headlines because not everything goes in politics.” He has stated that “the City Council does not leave anyone out” and criticized the socialists that “their alerts have only generated alarms and doubts, and that is unforgivable.” For this reason, he has reiterated that "they must apologize because after having worried people, no one has been left without bonuses." “The name of Benidorm is being mistreated with headlines that do not correspond to reality. The data contrasts the story,” he added.

The mayor, finally, recalled that the first batch of this campaign has already been paid for sales made between December 15 and 21 "and we are already in the process of the second remittance, which will arrive at the establishments as soon as the Christmas celebrations are over.”
