Today the first classes of Benidorm TIC digital program courses start in the social centres of La Torreta and José Llorca Linares. The mayor of Benidorm has welcomed the students of the program: "We are starting the first free courses of Benidorm TIC, a training program in the use of new technologies and free internet framed in the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy of Benidorm, our urban transformation strategy," explained the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez, who today visited the José Llorca Linares social centre together with the Councilor for Innovation, Aida García, the Councilor for Social Welfare and Cooperation, Ángela Llorca, and the representative of the bidding company TECOM José Gómez. “Benidorm TIC, with its complete offer of more than 100 different courses, is an ambitious and cutting-edge initiative in the Valencian Community that will allow us to continue transforming Benidorm by reducing the digital divide of our residents.”

The free courses, aimed at the population of Benidorm with difficulties in accessing these tools, begin today in the classrooms of the social centres of La Torreta and José Llorca Linares. "We use quality and free training to bring new technologies such as social networks, the management of mobile devices and the use of digital administration to our most vulnerable population," declared Mayor Toni Pérez. “With this initiative, co-financed with European ERDF funds, we seek to foster faster and safer relationships with the administration, banks and entities that we use every day in the most vulnerable groups in our city.”

Benidorm TIC's educational offer includes more than 100 different courses on topics such as the use of the electronic DNI or digital commerce that will be developed in classrooms equipped with new fixed and portable computers. "It is one of the most ambitious programs in the Valencian Community, which offers an exhaustive and free offer to our residents by the hand of a highly experienced company, TECOM," added Pérez. "The Benidorm TIC initiative will allow us to reduce the risk of exclusion, with quality courses to continue advancing towards the inclusive, accessible and integrated Benidorm that we have been building in recent years."

The Benidorm ICT training program in new technologies is part of Benidorm's strategy to improve job placement using free, quality education as a tool for social transformation.

Framed in the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy of Benidorm, Benidorm TIC seeks to "improve the use and quality of information and communication technologies", promoting "social inclusion and the fight against poverty."
