Next Monday, September 12, the courses of the Benidorm TIC initiative start, and the digital literacy training program of the Benidorm Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy in the social centres of La Torreta and José Llorca Llinares. "With Benidorm TIC, we offer free and quality courses in new technologies to reduce the digital gap and improve the insertion of our most vulnerable population," explained Mayor Toni Pérez. "The training will take place in different social centres in the city, to facilitate access to these free courses."

Benidorm TIC includes more than 100 different courses, of up to 40 hours of training, on topics such as digital administration, the use of the electronic DNI or the management of social networks. To carry out the classes, a classroom with desktop PCs and another with laptops has been set up. "The first classes will begin on Monday, September 12, at the social centres of La Torreta and José Llorca Llinares, but the creation of classrooms is also planned at the 'Pepita Puchades' Training Center for Employment and other locations in Benidorm," he added. Perez.

"Using electronic commerce, using electronic banking or carrying out procedures in the digital administration is today a common need for groups such as the elderly or people with functional diversity," said Pérez. “We want to avoid the risk of digital exclusion by not mastering these skills; That is why we are committed to quality and free training through the Benidorm TIC program with which we aspire to an accessible, inclusive, comprehensive and integrated Benidorm.”

This digital literacy program is part of Benidorm's global commitment to education at all levels under the prism of quality and the free factor as a tool for the integration of all the groups that coexist in the city.

Benidorm TIC responds to two fundamental objectives of the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) of Benidorm: the second, which seeks to "improve the use and quality of information and communication technologies", and the ninth, which promotes " social inclusion and the fight against poverty.
