The agreement signed today will strengthen the programming of the patron saint festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores
Benidorm reaffirms its support for Beniardà festivities with a contribution of 8,000 euros

Benidorm City Council will once again allocate €8,000 to support the Beniardà patron saint festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, which began last Sunday and will continue until Wednesday, August 6.
The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Mayor of Beniardà, Rafaela Llorens, signed the agreement between the two municipalities today at an event also attended by the Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros.
Benidorm's gesture toward its sister town dates back to the solidarity shown by Beniardà during the severe drought of 1978, when it allowed exploration within its municipality in search of water resources for Benidorm. That action was a class act in ensuring the water supply for the population and tourism in a situation of extreme scarcity.
In recognition of that generosity, Benidorm City Council has since maintained this commitment to gratitude and designated a portion of its municipal budget to support and strengthen events and activities during Beniarda festivities.
