Toni Pérez highlights the advantages of the DTI to place tourists and neighbors at the center of municipal policies
Benidorm participates in the 'Digital Tourism' conference organized by Telefónica in Santander
The mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez has participated this morning in the Digital Tourism Day, organized by Telefónica and held in Santander about "Digitalization as the main ally of the new tourism".
Pérez has shared a debate with the mayors of Santander, Logroño, Bilbao, and Badajoz, as well as the delegate of the Government department for Mobility and the Environment of Madrid City Council.
Pérez, stressing the fundamental of digitization and the DTI experience, highlighted that "it has served Benidorm to place the tourist and the neighbor at the center of its policies, anticipating the needs and responding from innovation, new technologies, and sustainability”. Pérez pointed out the pioneering initiatives of Benidorm and specified that thanks to the analysis and interpretation of the data, "Benidorm has managed to increase the quality of the tourist experience, go towards continuous modernization and improve the relationship between neighbors, residents, and visitors".
Regarding the management and the roadmap that Benidorm follows, Toni Pérez indicated that "now we can know the will of the tourist who plans the trip to Benidorm, the displacement, the stay, their experiences and acts punctually and define the promotion". After reviewing the environmental and sustainability milestones of the destination and the successes of the Benidorm brand, Pérez pointed out the importance of technological allies and advocated the development of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.
The directors of the territory of Telefónica and of Business Transformation, Manuel Ángel, and Agustín Cárdenas, participated as speakers in the conference, focusing the issues on the governance of cities and tourist destinations, products, and perspectives, based on the methodology, the standard and the dashboards that allow for better governance thanks to digitization and technology.
