The project plans to act in the section that runs between Paris and Berlin and will act on the hydraulic pipes and other affected services such as lighting and gardening
Benidorm begins this Tuesday the comprehensive renovation of Montecarlo avenue, which will be carried out in phases
Benidorm City Council begins this Tuesday, February 1, the comprehensive renovation works of Montecarlo avenue in the section between París and Berlín avenues; the section "where there are more neighbors" and "where we had more problems with hydraulic infrastructure, services, telecommunications, lighting, trees and accessibility", as indicated today by the councilor for the area, José Ramón González de Zárate.
This work will be carried out "in phases" to "generate as little inconvenience as possible." In the first phase, which is starting now, work will be done on the section between Paris and London streets, probably. In a second phase, work will be done on the section between London and Berlin.
De Zárate has pointed out that "the comprehensive renovation of Avenida de Montecarlo is the work that the residents of Rincón de Loix request the most and the one that the government team wanted to do the most"; and he has added that "we started it now because, given the supply problems of the last few months, we did not want to start it without having all the material collected and all the necessary machinery".
The mayor recalled that it is a major work, since the drinking water, sewerage, rainwater, and reclaimed water pipes are going to be renewed, which means that "we have to insert pipes throughout the entire length of the work ”. Therefore, “we are going to have to act on the road and also on the sidewalks”.
Some sidewalks "will be completely new and adapted to accessibility regulations", so that at the end of the work "we will have put an end to accessibility problems thanks to the creation of ramps and zebra crossings"
Within the project, it is contemplated that the street has the character of a cycle path and that it maintains the current number of parking spaces. In addition, all the lampposts are going to be renewed and trees are going to be implanted.
De Zárate has asked for "patience, understanding, and tranquility" in the face of these "complex" works, and has explained that the forecast is that the section in which action is now going to be reopened to traffic at Easter.
Likewise, he has indicated that when it comes to reorganizing the traffic in the area "we have tried not to change many directions" and "guarantee access to the fords" depending on the development of the work.
The renovation project for Montecarlo Avenue between París street and Berlín street is valued at 1,119,211.31 euros plus VAT and the completion period is 10 months.
