Benidorm begins the countdown to its Festes Majors Patronals with the celebration of 'Dia de les Penyes'

Benidorm has started the countdown to its Festes Majors Patronals with 'Dia de les Penyes', which is celebrated this Saturday and in 2022 recover its full program once the restrictions imposed in the two previous years by the pandemic. A 'Dia de les Penyes' organized by the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' with the collaboration of the Department of Festivities and which began at 08:00 with the 'despertà' and subsequent breakfast for supporters at Casa del Fester 'Diego Cano Enguera'.

At 10:00 a.m., the church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna hosted a mass offered by supporters in honor of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge and attended by the Councilor for Festivities, Jesús Carrobles; members of the Corporation; the Queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt, the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster; and his counterpart from l'Associació, Adrián Romero, among others.

At the same time, the 'gymkhana' has begun, in which various supporters' clubs have participated and which on this occasion have been jointly organized by the Al Pa Pa i al Vi Com Bojos, La Castanya, and La Cercavila supporters' clubs.
The same venue has hosted at 1:00 p.m. the traditional 'picaeta' offered by l'Associació, in which supporters club members, the Queens and Ladies of the Festes Majors, authorities, and festive entities have participated. An act in which the mayor, Toni Pérez, was also present.

The activity of the 'Dia de les Penyes' resumes at 8:00 p.m. with the Children's Playback contest. Two hours later it will be the adults who take over from the youngest on Julio Iglesias auditorium with the Adult Playback contest.
