The Local Government Board has approved the bases that will govern these subsidies

Benidorm allocates 60,000 euros in aid to sports clubs participating in official national competitions in the absolute category

17 November 2023
Benidorm destina 60.000 euros en ayudas a clubs deportivos participantes en competiciones oficiales nacionales en categoría absoluta

Benidorm City Council will allocate 60,000 euros to help local sports clubs that participate in official national competitions in the senior category. The Local Government Board has already approved the bases that govern this aid.

Sports entities that wish to be beneficiaries must be registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of the Valencian Community and the Benidorm City Council with at least two years of experience. In addition, they must have participated or been participating during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons in official competitions and/or leagues of non-professional teams in the senior/senior category.

Clubs may not be for-profit either and this requirement must appear in the Statutes of the entity. They must also be up to date with the payment of their tax obligations and have duly justified the subsidies received in previous years.

Once the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante, the deadline for submitting applications will be 15 calendar days from the day following publication.

The Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, explained that “a technical commission will be in charge of evaluating all applications based on the evaluation criteria that have been established and which takes into account, among other issues, the age of the teams. ; the consecutive years they have been competing in the senior or absolute category; the number of athlete licenses, federation, arbitration, and travel expenses not included in the transportation provided by the City Council; and the number of matches played in the period covered by the subsidy.”

Jordá has indicated that "with this call, we complement other lines of help to local sports entities, and we maintain the tone of constant support for the clubs in our city, favoring the promotion and encouragement of sports activity and collaborating so that, in this case, "The senior or absolute teams that compete at the national level continue to carry the name of Benidorm throughout all corners of the Spanish geography."
