The City Council has invested €790,000 in the purchase of the properties, which are characterized by their accessibility for people with reduced mobility

Benidorm acquires seven apartments in the EDUSI area to allocate them to social housing for vulnerable families

Benidorm Governing Board has approved today the purchase of the first seven properties to be used as social housing, after having technically valued up to a dozen flats. All the homes are located in the “EDUSI zone”, between Beniardá avenues, Portugal Avenue, Andalucía Avenue, Suecia Avenue, and Urano and Ginés Cartagena Streets.

For the acquisition of the homes, the municipal technicians have assessed aspects such as their accessibility for people with reduced mobility, the state of the apartment and the building, the number of rooms, their luminosity, or if they have parking, in a price environment that fluctuates between 65,000 and 130,000 euros.

In this sense, valued homes offer many differences among themselves so that the largest number of beneficiaries can access them. Thus, among the properties that the council will acquire there are homes with between one and three bedrooms and the vast majority have a full bathroom. Likewise, a good number of them are completely accessible, so that people with functional diversity can opt for them. There are also some with parking included. As for the furniture, there is also a variety of offers, since some are fully furnished, others with basic furniture and others without furniture, also to reach a larger target audience.

"Benidorm has once again shown that it is a city with the best social guarantees for young and old", highlighted the city's mayor, Toni Pérez, who recalled that "one of the main commitments that this government has adopted with the public is to promote access to housing for young and old families by expanding the public real estate pool; a commitment, to generate social housing, which we began to fulfill from minute one of the legislature”.

In this regard, he assured that "social housing is going to be one of the priorities in the four years that we are now beginning, thus showing our support for young and old, especially those with fewer resources." “

For the mayor of the city, "With the next new government of Carlos Mazón at the head of the Generalitat, and with the support of municipalities such as Benidorm, we are going to reverse this absolute lack of public housing that the PSOE government of Ximo has left us, Puig”.
