Youth offers introductory diving courses and Open Water Diver

05 July 2018
Juventud oferta cursos de buceo de iniciación y Open Water Diver

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Youth and after the success of previous editions, has scheduled the completion of two diving courses in the modalities of Baptism and Open Water Diver (OWD). This has been announced this morning by the councilor responsible for the area, Ana Pellicer, at a press conference with the municipal technical director of Youth, José Romeu.

The councilor said that the initiation course is scheduled for next July 21, in the afternoon, and its cost will be 38 euros. Pellicer has also reported that the Open Water Diver will be held throughout the days 4, 5, 11 and 12 August, also in the afternoon, and the registration will be priced at 240 euros. This last course allows the obtaining of the official degree "with which you can dive anywhere in the world," the mayor said.

As a novelty this year, Ana Pellicer recalled that "thanks to the change in legislation, children can enroll from ten years." For his part, José Romeu has specified that the activities will start in the port, where the school is located and that once the theoretical classes have been given and the material prepared, the participants "will take a pneumatic boat that will take them to the island of Benidorm , where the dives of 30 minutes each will take place ".

All the information on this activity, as well as the other proposals of the Youth Council, can be expanded from the Youth Information Center (CIJ), located at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España, in the town hall building.
