Youth department launches the design contest for the cover of the first Benidorm Youth Plan

Joventut llança el concurs de disseny per a la portada del primer Pla Jove de Benidorm...

At the end of next March, the presentation of the first Benidorm Youth Plan, ‘the Benidorm we want’, is scheduled, after full approval of its content.

With a view to the publication of the plan, the Youth Council has scheduled a contest open to young people between 12 and 30 years old, looking for a cover whose design is original, with a free and unpublished theme.

Each contestant, advanced councilor Jaime Jesús Pérez, “may submit up to two proposals”, in DIN A3 or DIN A4 formats, in which the text PLAN YOUNG DE BENIDORM must necessarily appear. He must include them in an envelope in which only "Design Contest for the cover of the Young Plan of Benidorm" is stated. And in that envelope you must add another, the escrow, with the registration form, completed in all your data, also indicating the acceptance of the bases -and the transfer of rights in case of being awarded-, as well as a photocopy of the DNI of the author, or the authorization of the parents in case of being a minor and include a photocopy of the ID of the responsible adult. Both forms, together with the contest rules, are available on the municipal website https://benidorm.org/es/evento/concurso-diseno-portada-del-plan-joven-be...

The works may be presented until February 26, either personally at the Youth department, Benidorm Youth Information Center, or by certified mail addressed to said council.

A single award has been established. endowed with three hundred euros. Also two second prize, of one hundred and fifty euros each, for the best covers presented by young people from 12 to 17 years old and from 18 to 20 years old, respectively. The amount of the second prize for the minor under eighteen years will be delivered in school material, didactic or similar.

The jury could declare the award and second prize void if it did not observe the necessary quality in them. It will be made up of three representatives of youth associations, plastic arts and design, together with the Councilor for Youth of Benidorm City Council, Jaime Jesús Pérez. Its ruling will attend to criteria of creativity, quality, adequacy of content, originality and impact of the transmission of the message that it is trying to capture.

The result of the contest will be announced by publishing the jury's decision before March 15th. The winning work will constitute the cover of the Young Plan of Benidorm and the non-awarded works may be used digitally in the publication, as a sample of the design contest carried out, or for any other purpose considered by the Youth Council.

Benidorm Youth Plan is, the councilor stressed, “the first municipal plan for young people to be developed in Benidorm, the Benidorm we want, and it contains proposals to be developed, from all councils and on a multi-annual basis, focused on the youth of Our city". The plan also includes, Pérez pointed out, "all the initiatives and concerns of groups, entities and youth associations in Benidorm".

Despite the fact that the effects of the pandemic have altered the schedule for preparing the plan, the priority is, recalled the Youth Councilor, "to be able to materialize all the consultation in aspects of participation of groups, include the proposed actions and schedule their implementation.

The plan, advanced Jaime Jesús Pérez, “contains a study of the reality of Benidorm that the youth want it and that we want for the youth, as well as the development and evaluation of all the proposals, actions and activities that are developed from the councils for them".
