The works of Tomás Ortuño half a century later, through the lens of Quico, 'the Photographer'

03 January 2018
Las obras de Tomás Ortuño medio siglo después, a través del objetivo de Quico ‘El Fotógrafo’

The works of the second phase to make Tomás Ortuño street pedestrian, which is expected to conclude in the coming weeks of January, will be the culmination of the renovation project of El Calvari neighborhood and the updating of a street considered as one of "the first commercial roads of the municipality", as the mayor, Toni Pérez, pointed out at the beginning of the works. Graphic testimony of the interest with which Benidorm has been redeveloping Tomás Ortuño over time, consists of two images of Francisco Pérez Bayona, "Quico, the photographer", with more than half a century of difference between them and that reflect a moment of the works on the corner with La Garita street. Half a century later, Tomás Ortuño street will offer better accessibility and safety to pedestrians, a new paving in which architectural barriers have been eliminated, trees and a renewed network of water pipes.
