AENOR guarantees that meets the standard UNE 166006/2011 of technological surveillance and competitive intelligence
Visit Benidorm Foundation has become the first foundation nationwide to be certified in tourism intelligence AENOR under UNE 166006/2011 technological surveillance and competitive intelligence, as announced by the mayor and delegate of Tourism, Toni Pérez. There are only 20 Spanish companies with this certification. Pérez announced the achievement of this certification in a press conference with the manager of the Foundation, Leire Bilbao; the Tourism coordinator and responsible for the management of this body to comply with the standard of Smart Tourist Destinations, Mercedes Llorca; and Celia Romero, of the Tourism Intelligence Company, which is advising the Consistory and Visit Benidorm Foundation to achieve the objective of the new certification standard of Smart Tourist Destination. The mayor pointed out that Benidorm was chosen by the Ministry of Tourism "as a pilot for Segittur to test the standard of Smart Tourist Destinations". Among the actions taken to implement that standard, Visit Benidorm Foundation has been working on one of the four axes of the same, namely in innovation, to achieve certification of AENOR in technological monitoring and competitive intelligence as indicated by the standard . The manager of the Foundation explained that to achieve this certification, "We have implemented a system of research and technological surveillance" over "two specific products" with the aim of incorporating that information "to the promotional destination management". Specifically, we investigated the 'running' and cycling. From that detailed analysis, it has been established "strengths and weaknesses" about the offer of both products in Benidorm and sporting events taking place in the city, later to adopt decisions at a"promotional level" as a Foundation and at a sports level as a City Hall. Bilbao indicated that this certification in technological monitoring and competitive intelligence "must be maintained every year," and added that it has been taken the commitment to AENOR next season, "we will have four specific research work in different products." The mayor, meanwhile, stressed that obtaining this certification is "a first important step" for Benidorm, "Being Smart Tourist Destination"; and he recognized and stressed "the work that has been developed for this purpose from the Foundation and from the managing body of the City Hall." This action is framed within the axis of innovation that includes the new standard of AENOR, and Segittur have already seen recently in its evaluation to the City Council. The other axes that collects the standar and in which they are working are: sustainability, accessibility and technology.
