Rincón de Loix rises with the First Prize and Els Tolls Falla in Children category

Virgin of Sufragio receives a floral offering from Benidorm Fallas

The Falla Local Board and Els Tolls, Rincón de Loix and Benidorm Center Fallas have starred this afternoon the traditional offering to the patroness saint of the city, the Virgin of Sufragio, at the end of a pilgrimage in which they have been accompanied by local authorities together to hundreds of neighbors and visitors of the city.

The delegation departed at six o'clock in the afternoon crossing the avenues Europa and Mediterráneo and toured the main streets of the urban center to Castelar square where the offering was made. The event was attended by the mayor, Toni Perez and the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, heading the municipal delegation, as well as the president of the Local Board Fallera, Javier Rico, the queens major and children of the Festes Majors Patronals de 2019, Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor, accompanied by their courts of honor, as well as the presidents of the Comissió of Festes Majors Patronals and of 'Verge del Sofratge' Association, Roberto Carretero and Coly Pérez, respectively

After the offering made by the members of the three commissions, as well as by representatives of Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, of Associació de Penyes, and of the municipal Corporation, the president of the Fallera Local Board and representatives of the three commissions with their banners and Selena Cortés and Nadia Mayor, 'falleras' of Els Tolls Falla; Alba López and Marina Vaquer, of Rincón Falla; and Valeria del Sufragio Sánchez of Falla Benidorm Center.

Toni Pérez spoke to the attendees, thanking in a special way the work and the effort made by the commissions throughout the year to keep these Josefinas Festivities alive in Benidorm. "Festivities," he said, "open to all who renew each year with fire a new cycle of hope and joy" •

This year the prizes of the Fallas monuments have gone to Rincón de Loix Falla, First Prize and Critic's Prize, while the first prize in the Children's category has been for Els Tolls Fallas.

The Fallas events continue tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19, festivity of San José with the traditional "Cremà", "big day" of Fallas that will begin in the morning with the "awakenings" and the acts foreseen in each of the commissions. The "mascletà" at about 14.00 hours. The parade of floats is planned around 6 pm, which will depart from Marqués de Comillas and will travel several roads to Avenida de Alcoy. According to the schedule set for the "Cremà" the first monuments to burn will be those of the Benidorm Center and the two infantile monuments in El Tolls and Rincón de Loix at 11.00 pm, followed, at 12 o'clock at night by Rincon de Loix Falla; and half an hour later by Els Tolls Falla.
