The City Council maintains conversations with the Generalitat to integrate the services of the Cultural Center into the network
Total refurbishment of Europa Avenue
Benidorm City Council has started the last phase of the restoration work on Europa Avenue. Operators and technicians today have finalized the planned actions that, shortly, will allow citizens to enjoy a new route from Avenida del Mediterráneo to that of Comunidad Europea Avenue.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councilors of Citizen Participation and Public Space, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate, have toured the area this morning, as part of the 'A pie de calle' campaign, together with residents of the neighborhood and the vice president of the Neighborhood Council, Manuel Sánchez Notario.
"An intervention - Toni Pérez said - that is possible thanks to the improvements incorporated into the work on Avenida del Mediterráneo" and that, in this section, affects three blocks. From Jaén Street to Kennedy Street; from Kennedy to Esperanto, from Esperanto to Comunidad Europea Avenue and the block in front of Comunidad Europea to Esperanto street.
Throughout the route, the sidewalks and curbs "will be renovated" as a whole to be "fully accessible." On Avenida de Europa, only the block of the Cultural Center that the Generalitat Valenciana is building will remain to be renovated. In this sense, Pérez has indicated that the City Council "works" in coordination with them to make "water connections, sewerage and other services through its facade of Europa Avenue and Jaén, Murcia and Ibiza street ”.
In the absence of the intervention required by the Cultural Center, Europa Avenue, from Mediterráneo Avenue to Comunidad Europea Avenue, will have new services. An avenue that was drawn up in the seventies, approximately fifty years ago and that today is presented to the neighbors as a modern access road to what is the urban fabric of Benidorm.
