The Association of Tourist Apartments, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in May, inaugurates its scope and regional projection

Toni Pérez, when inaugurating the Aptur assembly, encourages them to continue working for quality

08 April 2022
Reunión Aptur

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has inaugurated the General Assembly of Aptur, the employers' association of tourist apartments and regulated tourist homes, after two years of being affected by the pandemic, during which they have continued to work to increase their projection and representation which this year already covers the area of the Valencian Community.

Pérez congratulated them for this, a commitment made in 2021, noting that "administrations have the association as their interlocutor" and has encouraged them to continue along these lines. Today's Assembly amends the statutes, given the new regional projection, and has to expand its board of directors in that regard.

He also highlighted the face-to-face component that the assembly took up, because "one of the keys to tourism is contact with people" and it is essential "to attract them to the destination so that they can enjoy it."

Toni Pérez has encouraged them to "continue working for quality" pointing out that "quality is the way" and meaning quality as "the level of satisfaction for those who use the service".

The mayor has taken advantage of the moment to "value the effort made by Aptur during these two years" as well as "the commitment to society and destination" that they have shown by putting, as in the case of Benidorm, apartments at disposal of the medical-health community, at important moments of the pandemic, and now, more recently, towards refugees from Ukraine, "always with the utmost generosity and solidarity".

Finally, Toni Pérez wished for a profitable assembly day and highlighted that "the global offer of Benidorm and the Valencian Community in Tourism would not be understood without the presence and strength of regulated tourist apartments".

The Autonomous Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, also participated in the opening ceremony, telematically in this hybrid meeting, who highlighted "the great contribution of tourist housing to the travel pattern in an interesting and necessary modality that defines the hospital identity of the territory", encouraging them "to work for tourism to be strong, united and positive".
