Toni Pérez highlights the importance of sports tourism in the trophies 'Pro-Am' of 'Costa Blanca Benidorm Seniors Masters 2018'

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the president of the Provincial Council of  Alicante, César Sánchez, have presided over today the trophies in the 'Pro-Am' category of 'Costa Blanca Benidorm Seniors Master 2018' golf tournament, which celebrated since yesterday in the facilities of 'Meliá Villaitana Golf hotel'. It is an international event and has a great projection around the world, which is an important impact for the image of Benidorm, the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community.

Toni Pérez highlighted "the importance for Benidorm of positioning itself as a destination for sports tourism, especially in a sport such as golf" and has emphasized that "the favorable weather and the magnificent facilities in which this tournament is being held project a excellent image of our destination ".

'Costa Blanca Benidorm Seniors Masters' is a circuit with a 54-hole stroke play format for players over 50, in which 54 players from more than 15 nationalities participate. After the celebration yesterday and today of the games of category 'Pro-Am', tomorrow begins the official competition of professionals that will last until Saturday, December 1.

Among the participants in the professional category include world-class figures such as Miguel Ángel Jiménez, José María Olazábal, Constantino Rocca, Tomas Levet, Eamon Darcy, José Rivero and Santiago Luna.
