Tomorrow, Friday, the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council will host the screening of the short film 'Dios te salve María', directed by the filmmakers Noe Fluxá and Julie-Estel Soard. The projection will begin at 8:00 p.m. and a colloquium will take place at its conclusion.

'Dios te salve María' is a story that places in the city of Alicante during the Spanish Civil War and the plot focuses on the love relationship between two women who had to keep their romance secret for fear of exclusion and persecution for being homosexual.

The script is by Sergio Checa, who has carried out in-depth research and documentation on the events that took place in Alicante during the Civil War, which the historical and newspaper references have been corroborated by the Alicante Historical Memory Commission and integrated into the plot. For this reason, all the characters show details and events that really happened, except for the love story, which is the only fictional event in the film.

The short film stars the actresses Irene Rojo and Patricia Aroa, along with five other supporting actors and 48 extras.
