The students of 'T'Avalem' program are preparing dramatized visits to Tossal de la Cala

13 September 2022
Visitas Tossal

The ten young people under 30 who participate in the 'T'Avalem' employment and training program are preparing dramatized visits to Tossal de la Cala, thus expanding the activities and proposals offered by the City Council to those who want to discover or learn more about the Roman site.

The councillors of Historical Heritage and of Employment and Local Development, Ana Pellicer and Mónica Gómez, have today attended the rehearsal and preparation day for these visits at the site itself, where the students have been accompanied by part of the teachers who are in charge of his training in 'Promotion of children's and youth educational free time activities' and in 'Direction and coordination of educational and youth free time activities.

Pellicer has indicated that "these dramatized visits are a very attractive alternative for the population, especially for children and young people, who through this dynamic activity can immerse themselves even more in the way of life of the time, in the outfits, in the behaviour and defence strategies that were used during the Sertorian wars, and even feel part of the Roman army”.

In addition to scripting the visits and representing them, the students have also been in charge of making the clothing that they will use in each representation, of which "later on when they will be carried out and for which we will make an offer to schools in Benidorm so that they can include this activity in their programming”.

These guided tours will be the third activity that the students of 'T'Avalem' will carry out linked to the Tossal de la Cala, after having been in charge of promoting the itinerant exhibition 'Romans against Romans' in the educational centres of Benidorm and having developed a children's ceramics workshop within the framework of the European Conference on Archaeology.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion explained that all these activities "are included in the practical training offered to the participants of the 'T'Avalem' programme, which is financed by the European Social Youth Guarantee Fund through LABORA ”. "With this program we improve the training of students, who once they pass the training receive a certificate of professionalism, thus expanding their options for accessing the labour market."
